SimpleX credit system
Optimizing data consumtion

All SimpleX plans come with a credit allowance. It means that every month, according to your plan, you are granted a certain volume of text data to analyze. If you try to upload more than your allowance in one given month, your import will be blocked. You do not need tough to upgrade your plan, as you can buy some extra credits one off, for a punctual need.
But what is a credit and how is it measured?
1 credit = 1 text answer
The short answer is one credit = 1 text answer.
It means that if you import 235 text comments, it will count for 235 credits.
If you import from a spreadsheet, it will likely contain 236 rows (1 title row + 235 data rows)
Credit FAQ
More specifically, here are some answers to most frequently asked questions:
Is it independent of the length of the text answer?
Yes. One answer with one word or with 100 words count for one same single credit.
Remember the maximum length of one answer is 1 000 characters. So concatenating all text answers into one single text is not a viable option.
Are blank rows counted at import?
It depends.
YES If you import ONLY text answers, i.e. you map only one column containing text answers, blank cells will not be counted as answers. Say you map at import one column containing 43 rows (plus one header row), including 4 blank cells, it will consume 39 credits. NB: the warning about the number of credits consumed may in some cases display a 43 instead of 39 but the actual consumption will be in. all cases 39.
NO if you import filters attached to text answers. As soon as one value of one filter is non blank, it will count for one credit.
If you import from a spreadsheet, each row that is not absolutely blank will count for 1 credit.
The fact that non blank rows are imported and counted, even if the text answer field is empty, guarantees that statistics computed on filter values (eg rating, or multiple choice, or segment breakddown) will be correct and consistent across the survey.
What if I have multiple open questions?
If , for one given survey of 100 respondents, you have 2 open questions you want to import, it will count for 200 credits. You can import one question after the other, or import both at once using the multiple import (coming soon).
What about re-import?
You can add additional data to an existing survey using the function re-import. In this case, you often import from the same spreadsheet but it will add only new data, skipping already imported data. In this case, it will only count as many credits as new rows imported.
Troubleshooting import
Before actually performing any import step, an alert message will indicate the credits that will be consumed by the operation and stress any issue with credit allowance.
Nevertheless, in order to optimally manage your credit allowance, you might pay attention to the following steps;
Delete apparently blank rows in your spreadsheet. If they are actually blank, it would not impact your credit, but one single space into one single cell of a given row might turn it as a non blank row ie one credit.
Do not add filters if you know you won’t use them.
